RE: Conversion problem, ...URGENT

Carl:

Many thanks for the small programme below. It seems that it will not be
as difficult to convert to MSWord as I had initially expected, although there
is a major problem. It appears that I may have lost all of my index markers
so it seems that I won't be able to reply on them to produce a new index
in Word. As a result I may be to start that over from scratch in Word, ...a
major job is ahead of me, since I don't have Word at home, and even if I
had it, I would not know the commands. Do you know of a way of preserving
the index markers.

It is rather essential that I preserve the markers because my page number are
different in Word from what they are in XY4. In Xy4 I have over 490 pages in
the manuscript. When I bring it into Word, I have 409 pages. I don't know
yet where the other pages went. The font is the same and the printer is too.
If I could the same text on the same pages, my XY4 index, would work, since
I am able to convert my XY4 index to a Word file.

Strange. In any case, thanks for you RTF programme. I works well at con-
verting almost everything but the index markers. And any other suggestions
you might make would be very well received. Thanks again.

Maiben

DECODE the following frame and CoPy it into the Jumbo U2. (Use
LH to SAve and reLOAD U2.) With your XyWrite file in the
current window, issue SA/RTF. When prompted, enter a
filename using the .RTF extension. Then open the .RTF file in Word.

This frame may not work with very big files (because it "shells" to
a secondary copy of DOS on top of the one already running and
therefore has limited memory to work with). But it's handy for
"normal-sized" files. In a pinch, worth a try.
