O.K., thanks. But I'm still not sure I'm following you re all the steps in getting from here to there. We have 4 or 5 HP LJ drivers for Xy-3 to choose from. (These have been used when we've had an older computer directly connected to a HP 4L printer over a parallel connection, if you recall those compact workhorse printers. At this point it's become rather difficult to find toner cartridges for them.) What happens after the legal document is ready ? Make sure it has the correct FD, then generate an FO.Tmp, with all the raw PCL code ? And then . . . ?What Paul wrote re the DosBox scenario prompts me to note that when trying to take the Xy-3 setup full-screen under vDosXy, the result seems to be an exceeds-the-screen mess that's hard to control and can't readily be reverted to the partial screen. How to tailor this, if possible ?[Please excuse anything elementary that has been forgotten: I've gotten pretty rusty with Xy-3, but still occasionally have to support it for the office.]Jordan

Using an HP LJ driver, a PC5 code and an appropriate FD value, both inside the a xy3 document proper, appear to generate correctly paginated legal-size pages.

Hello Jordan,
At present, legal paper is not supported. I think the GhostPCL solution
would be the optimal solution for this need, too. I am investigating
this. I will let you know when I have a solution.
