With regard to AutoSAve, I forgot to mention that a KBD-file mod is
required. AutoSAve works by poking an F15 keystroke into XyWrite (on
the assumption that no one is using F15 in Xy; it doesn't matter if
you're using it in another program). The Xy4 KBD file will recognize
F15, but you have to change the KEYS= statement near the top of the
file to KEYS=126, and add a 126= key assigment in TABLE=. It's all
documented in the Help screen, but my earlier post failed to say so.
If I do say it myself, I love AutoSAve. Most people who've used
word-processors as long as we have are compulsive SAvers. But when
I'm composing an especially difficult passage, SAving tends to take
a back seat, and if a freeze occurs you (I) can easily lose minutes
worth of blood, sweat and tears, even with XyWrite's built-in
Autosave feature. I've set the AutoHotKey-based AutoSAve to SAve the
file I'm working on every 15 seconds (except if a "Skip" condition
prevail), and it gives me a dollop of peace of mind.
