xywin cut and paste

I maintain a very large directory of individuals involved in a
certain area of historical research. I maintain the directory in
XyWrite. I make the directory available in both printed and html
form. I'm having a problem getting the non-standard-English
characters to appear properly in html.
Here's what works: If I select text and copy to clipboard and then
open Netscape Gold as an html editor and paste the stuff I've just
copied from XyWin the special characters (letters with accents, etc.)
arrive just fine. However, if I create the html document in XyWrite
and then open it directly the characters do not appear as they
should. The solution is simple: always copy to clipboard and then
paste!
Problem: my text document is too long to fit into whatever memory is
available to my windows clipboard. Question: how can I overcome this
problem? I realize that I could copy and paste small segments of the
text until I've done the whole document, but I would really like to
be able to do it all at once.
I'd appreciate any advice.
