Maybe OT, but very, very interesting. Thanks. (I find it hard to
believe the USPS--which has to be one of the STUPIDEST organizations
on the face of the globe; trust me, as circulation manager for a
small-town weekly, I have intimate acquaintance with their
idiocies--got in at the get go.)
Harry added ≪it's nice to know there are still some old-time lefties
out there.≫ As much I don't like really big corporate killers either,
the alternative is worse. I've been to
the other side of the Berlin Wall; I've seen it. It didn't work.
Absolutely. But this has to be the first time I've been called a
lefty, even by implication. I favor neither socialism (certainly not
state socialism) nor rampant, social darwinist capitalism, but
distributivism: open markets, small companies, sole proprietorships,
cooperatives, maybe a few closely regulated monopolies for things like
utilities and transport.
