actually have Expanded Memory available (what does MEM/C say)?
Good question; forced me to look at my memory specs, and lack of
knowledge on this. In Xy I invoked a mem/c and got the following.
Available memory: 105K
Expanded memory: [blank]
XyWrite: 560K
Code: 295K
Overlays: 278K
Root:17K
Not code: 237K
Data:30K
Savegets: 2K
So I don't have expanded mem enabled, as I read this. Reading the
WPDOS site (http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/wpdos/index.html), I see I
need to add two lines to my config.nt file. Yes, the memory-tab
properties in my shortcut are properly set to the values defined in
many posts here. A final note/question: I run XY from a .bat file
invoked by a shortcut. I did this after I got some strange behavior
in NB after I installed TAME. I REMed out the TAME startup line from
Autoexec.nt and put it in a .bat file. My NB artifacts seemed to
disappear, but I should have done more trouble-shooting to make sure
TAME was the problem. I wrote to NB/NY, but they'd never heard of
TAME. Thus a question: if anyone is running TAME from Autoexec.bat on
an XP Pro system and you have NB installed, do you have any screen
issues with NB? Thanks.
PS: I'm running TAME Pre5. Thesaurus does not work properly; cursor
freezes there. So far the only glitch. All else seems smooth. A full
report will follow.
