Xcopy32 (not xcopy) can do all that for you - if you give it the correct
switches. I use a batch file which has the lines:
set H=windows
c:\windows\command\xcopy32 c:\%H%\*.* d:\%H% /d/h/s/c/k/r
: those switches being:
: copy more recent versions, hidden and system files, all subdirs,
: don't stop if error, copy attribs, overwrite read-only,
