Regarding the question of what would happen if anyone started
selling XyWrite again, the problem would not be lawyers, because
all previous legal holders of the property have failed to protest
'Xywrite.com' and therefore have lost any standing to sue. So lawyers
would not be the problem. Finding customers would be the problem.

The operative verb here is "give." No one is going to notice so
long

as you don't make any money on it. If someone were to repackage the

program and start (re-)selling it, some lawyer might smell a fee and

start making a stink.
