Productivity Software, makers of PRD+, is the company that has patented the
auto-replace like functions. This TSR does work within XyWrite. NO, we did not
use any of its code. Of course not. It is simply a matter of two companies
having the same good, simple idea--and one company building an entire product
around it and patenting it.

Before we decided to change auto-replace in XyWrite 3.56, we negotiated with
Productivity Software to find a resolution. We were unable to secure for us and
our users the kinds of rights that we needed. Believe me, it was NOBODY's
first, second, or third choice to do what we did.
