Well, I thought your programmers would be able to figure it out! After all the
noshare doc is pretty clear aout what it does: it intercepts oops (line noise)
intercepts a particular type of file opening and returns an error message. I
conclude that footnote indexes are opened this particular way and nothing else
in xywrite works that way. The question is : Is this way of opening files BAD
on large disks. The option to run share isn't helpful because the word on the
street is that it is a waste of memory unless one has a badly behaved
program--so please ask a programmer if xywrite is such a program.
