When we were discussing this two years ago I thought that I was able to disable USB and then recover
my expanded memory. However since then I have lost expanded memory completely, whatever I disable.
I can only conclude that when I thought I had disabled it and recovered expanded memory I made some
mistake. I'm sorry if that appears confusing, but I cannot remember the precise details now, or
when I discovered I was mistaken.

Having read documentation about this on the Wordperfect for DOS site that has been referred to in
the forum, I concluded that the problem probably lies with the on-board video, which my board has.
Whatever, I have not been able to recover expanded memory and cannot run the Microlytics UK
dictionary with XY4. I can survive without it but when I upgrade next time I'd like the option of
using expanded memory if possible. I'm running w2k, by the way, having upgraded from 98se following
your suggestion and am more than happy. I don't want to go back to 98se.
