Yes, it is Big News. It needs to be take with a grain of salt, though. The WINE project provides a way of running Windows programs without using/purchasing the Windows operating system. I have tried the current version of WINE (downloaded 2013-04-25 from http://sourceforge.net/projects/darwine/?source=dlp), along with the current version of X11 (http://xquartz.macosforge.org/landing/). So far I have not been able to get the latest NB 10 beta to install properly. I get a series of error messages (5, I think) similar to this: "Unable to register the DLL/OCX: RegSvr32 failed with exit code 0x1." This is more or less the same problem I had when trying earlier versions of NB. The WINE installation installs and runs WinEdt, a heavy-duty editor designed for the LaTeX system, and it runs Internet Explorer.
