"fn|$" means "function or string".
Let me rephrase the whole thing. The basic command syntax is:
run [d:\path\]findkey.pm argument
The distinction that I was trying to indicate was that if your argument is only
two characters long, FINDKEY will look for functions AND strings; whereas
otherwise it only looks for strings. I don't know whether the DOC mentions it or
not, but FINDKEY only flags matches found on key assignments (matching text which
is part of a comment is ignored).
