Hi all, I think I may have solved my problem with 'now' giving the wrong time. I looked at my basic properties for editor and found that, under the 'compatibility' tab, for some reason I can't remember, I had told editor to execute in Win95 mode and to run as an administrator. I disabled both these settings, and so far, I (a) haven't found anything the matter in general (so why did I put it in Win95 mode to start with?) and (b) 'now' seems to be behaving. More later.

I doubt it writes a file. It feels like a screen refresh problem to
me, though its roots may run deeper. You might try bumping up the
priority of XyWrite's ntvdm process.
