Dear Mr. Slivitzky,
These problems seem to be occurring because of memory management. Does the
386MAX device driver in your CONFIG.SYS remap the memory address of ROM BIOS.
If so, could you disable this statement and try using the Thesaurus and
dictionaries again. If you have other arguments with that device driver,
temporarily disable them also.
