Nick (love your last name!!)
I tried to install XyWin to Windows 2000, and, since I am not very familiar
with Win2000, found a way to get to DOS, but it seems almost like (and
actually probably is) an accessory and not a stable "program" so to
speak. I actually dislike using XyWrite through Windows, but have no
choice with some of the work I do. I always feel like I'm kind of "getting
away" with something when I use Xywrite in DOS. Anyway, I know when I
installed XyWin on my W98 and WME OS, I was able - eventually! - to get
Microsoft to cooperate. W2000, seems like the Berlin wall!!! Access to
MS-DOS seems to have virtually disappeared. Installing from four floppies,
do I reboot the computer in safe mode? and then install from "run" ?
Am I making sense?
Thanks!
Mimi
P.S. Glad to know though that some are actually up and using Xywrite in
W2000. I have hope.

I'm running XyWin under Windows 2000 Pro without trouble, although I gave
up on the Xy printer driver a couple of generations ago and am using the
Windows driver. Installation went without a hitch. My only problem was
that screen fonts weren't showing up properly. This was corrected by
un-installing and re-installing fonts using HP's FontSmart routine.

I have just upgraded, or rather bought a new laptop with Windows
2000. I've been able to work with XyWin and Xy4 on my desktop with
Windows ME, however, is it possible to load XyWin onto Windows 2000?
