Re: SaveStyle problem

Much easier to command EG [stylename] and let U2 do the work. It provides a similar (and, I believe, even more comprehensive) SS statement. Bloat in some contexts, perhaps, but it is a handy way to make a document portable between differently-configured Xy setups; also, to see the various settings in effect at a given cursor position.
Interesting. I hadn't known that was there. But one of the things I
love about Xy styles (as opposed to WP's and Wierd's) is that one does
NOT have to specify every feature of a page, only what is changing. So
what I do is set up the unchanging formats (paper size, margins, base
typeface--I rarely use more than one, having a loathing of ransom-note
typography--tab stops, etc.) at the beginning, then Save Styles for
the different sizes, weights, and indentations (IP command) of the
various elements of the doc. I used to embed the auto-counter for
headings in the SS, but found that they indexed better if they were
separate.
Here's an example, with some snippets of text in the various styles.
using the PostGhst.prn, and yes, the ability to open it with an HP
driver loaded is lacking. But the cure for that is to tweak my printer
drivers so that the synonyms are right, no?
