Re: OS2 Warp vs Win95

I've been using XyWrite 4 under Os/2 for about 2 1/2 years. I've noticed
two strange behaviors, both minor.

One is, when marking text by holding down the shift key and moving the
cursor keys, sometimes the marking stops, while the cursor keeps moving.
As if I had let go of the shift key, but K hadn't. I have to move the
cursor back to where the marking left off and resume marking text.

The other is that the graphic view only works in a full-screen session.
When I first installed OS/2 and didn't yet have the 256-color SVGA
graphics driver, it just produced a blue and black display, but functions
like the envelope addressing feature, which invokes a graphics screen,
still worked. After I installed SVGA graphics, I get an OS/2 message that
the system doesn't support this graphics mode in a window. So I have to
hit alt-home and go to a full-screen view.

Another thing to be aware of with XyWrite under OS/2 is that
Control-Alt-Delete is intercepted by OS/2 and reboots the system. Under
DOS, it gives you a way to exit and save your work if the system freezes
up. Since that safety feature of XyWrite doesn't work under OS/2, I've
enabled autosave, so if something goes wrong, I don't lose too much.
