My copy of Editor v3.55 is dated 4/12/89:
XyWrite III+
V 3.55 - 4/12/89
> V 4.018 - 1994
> V 4.019 - 8/23/99 (Y2K Fix) ?
This is wrong. There is no v4.019! XyDOS v4.018 and XyWin v4.13
are the Y2K fixes; both are dated 8/23/1999. Editor.EXE v4.017 is
dated 5/8/94, and XW.EXE v4.12 is dated 1/24/95. I believe the
initial release of XyWin was v4.11, or possibly 4.10 followed
shortly by 4.11. So the entries should read:
XyWrite IV
...
V 4.017 - 5/8/94
V 4.018 - 8/23/99 (Y2K Fix)
XyWrite for Windows:
V 4.11 ?
V 4.12 1/24/95
V 4.13 8/23/99 (Y2K fix)
By the way, for Xy4DOS users, there is no reason not to be running
v4.018, and very good reasons not to run anything earlier than
4.017; many bugs in earlier releases were fixed. The Y2K fix in
v.4018 was slight but benign. In short, visit www.xywrite.com and
upgrade to EDITOR.EXE v4.018! While you're there, you may need to
grab the latest available versions of XY4.MNU and XY4.HLP, as well.
The best iteration of XY4.DLG (the most important menu system file)
is available at http://users.datarealm.com/xywwweb/. Use your browser
to search for the text "an updated (2/29/04) XY4.DLG file", and
follow the link.
