OK, I got the information for the office PC, which appears to run XyWin
under XP (I say appears, because I was running it off my flash drive,
and a lot of the Defaults were wrong; but it loaded). I here include a
table with the information from that system. If others can get
comparable info on theirs (not always easy with name brands) and enter
it in place of mine, we may be able to get to the bottom of this.
Harry, I need to delve into where XP hides the data on things (they're
in different menus and tabs on 98) to see if I can find out more about
your memory anomaly. And I cannot do that till Tues., when I get a
chance to play with the XP box.
