Yes, I know about them and have used them once or twice. But they
generally seem unnecessary for what I'm doing. I've heard about
"structured programming" for decades but I don't know what it
is (you needn't try to educate me). I'm doomed to be a
kludge-artist.

You mean you've discovered XRAY? It's only been around a
dozen years or so....
