It's been two years now since i looked to vim/gvim to address issues i was having, for my work, that
I couldn't work with easily in Xwwrite i.e. xml editing, large documents, easy accessiblity on Mac's
under OS X. I can say, at this point, i am very happy and the functionality of VIM, via programming
support and plethora user developed plugins surpasses my expectations.

I would recommend my fellow Xy users to check it out, especially the mac users, and people wanting
to use 64-bit processing under Windows. The program is free and open source, and is also avaliable
for Linux as well. It can also be customized through its own internal language vimscript, as well as
perl, python, and i think a few others.

The focus for vim, as was for Xy, was the desire to have full functionality, without having your
hands leave the keyboard. So, even though you can use it under windows, and it CAN follow common
mouse/windows keyboard conventions, knowledgable vim users never have to leave their keyboard.

There are numerous tutorials on using vim as well!
