Ooh, ooh, I just remembered why this problem occurs in the
first place! You absolutely MUST have a Windows printer driver installed, even
if you don't actually have a printer. A long path name is one that violates the
8.3 rule, that is, a file name with more than 8 characters before a dot (if any)
and/or more than 3 after the dot.
