XTree for Windows

Yes, there is an XTree for Windows!
A German programmer made a Windows-compatible (and OS/2-compatible) clone
of XTree, called ZTree http://www.ztree.com/. I use it all the time. It
*does* lock up on rare occasions, but it works pretty well. You can
download it as shareware -- I don't think it expires, but I don't know
because I liked it so much that I registered it immediately.

Technically, you could sort files by file type (extension), select them,
and globally move or delete them. You can also find files with any
extension, and then move or delete them. I admit it's awkward.
