!? The Xywrite manual? It's been a while since I used Xy3 but I
don't recall having to do anything at all to force LPT3 output
anywhere else but LPT3 from within Xywrite. In Xy4 -- I know you're
not using it but since I don't remember Xy3 perhaps there's something
similar there -- the LPT value is set from SETTINGS.DFL.

Is this the problem, maybe? I believe that LPTs are OS-defined --
you might try looking at the W95 printer/parallel port configuration
and ensure that the fax printer driver is accessing it -- that's
assuming that you haven't successfully printed to the fax driver from
another application. Since I don't know W95 I'll shut myself up
before someone else does. There may also be a hardware limit on how
many LPTs you can have; if it doesn't hurt too much, perhaps disable
your LPT2 device and try again.

A quick-fix idea -- if there isn't a lot of fancy formatting
involved, you might find that using Xywrite's printf (I think typef
is equivalent) command to print to a file, then dragging and dropping
it to the fax application's printer driver (or however it's done)
will give you useable output until you can get the thing working
properly.
