Yes, this is a bug: pressing TAB repeatedly can break you out of forms mode. I
can't offer you any simple workaround. You might want to consider abandoning
forms in favor of a customized help screen. A Type 5 help screen can have "fill
in the blanks" areas. You can attach a program to the screen, which will take
the information in the blanks and rearrange it, etc., and place it in another
file. See App Note 150 for details.

 Granted, this solution is pretty extreme. Anyone have any other ideas? YOu
could also take away the tab function by modifying the keyboard file, or
working out a method to turn off tab when in a form.

The bug is not simply pressing tab repeatedly. It has to do with first typing
in the form, and then pressing backspace several times. Then you  break out of
forms by pressing tab.
