OK, good news and bad news.
Modifying enhance.set with the GT works--sometimes.
It stops working every time I go to the command line; I can restore the
function by hitting ALT, and it continues to work fine--until I go back to
the command line, when I have to go back to ALT.

Does this make any sense to you?
