Despite what Martin quoted from the manual, I still wonder if XyDOS
doesn't use extended rather than--or along with--expanded memory.
Robert's comments on the actual loading might be evidence too. After all,
TTG always ran it on Novell DOS 7, and that OS did indeed have DOS
protected mode services--i.e., a way of putting a 386 or later processor
into protected mode, and thus making extended memory accessible, without
rebooting.
