To follow up on Judith's suggestion, check to see if your DOS path
includes the XyWrite 4 program directory. If not, add it. Place it
ahead of any reference to your Xy3 program directory. E.g.,
....;C:\XY4;C:\XY;...
-> Also wf=1 is already set in SETTINGS.DFL. Is there something

You can set it from the command line:
D WF=1
STore and reCAll your file. It should work. If it does, then, yes,
something is overriding the setting in SETTINGS.DFL. STARTUP.INT
and/or your printer file are likely possibilities.
