As some of you already know, recent versions of vDos-lfn and vDos-lfn for XyWrite feature sound support through PC speaker. This feature is not present in original vDos or vDosXy. With sound support, it will for example beep when an error message is displayed in XyWrite 3/4. The PC speaker sound support is turned on by default in the current vDos-lfn for XyWrite installer, although it can be easily turned off by setting "SPEAKER=OFF" in config.txt. Note however that as discussed in an earlier thread that compared with no sound support, it might sometimes slow down the execution of a program when the program makes use of the PC speaker. Hence I would like to know how many people here want the PC speaker sound support feature to be turned on by default in the vDos-lfn for XyWrite installation. Thanks for your opinions.
