Not strong enough. What about the possibility that the cursor is on
the first character in the string but not at Top_of_File?

I've grappled with this one for two decades. SE/F is flawed -- good
enough for government work (on the CMline, where you can see what
you're doing), but not in XPL. All the workarounds are prolix.

If you're worried about a speed hit with my procedure -- don't. The
SEB command takes less than 1/5000th of a second to execute, by my
calculation. I think we can safely move on to nuclear proliferation
and peace in the Middle East.
