Let's hear it for Russ W. Urquhart for reminding
us how wickedly wise archy is 120+ years, I believe,
after Don Marquis's birth.
I *hate* shifting while writing or editing and back
in pre-xyWrite days capped nothing I wrote privately.
I'd defend to, well, just short of death Marquis's
and cummings's and Russ's and any other writer's
choice for whatever reason of a lower case first
person singular (and have had occasion to do so
when careers were at stake).
But xyWrite does change the equation for typists
like me who once lc'd i (and in my case everything
else) for practical and not aesthetic or philosophical
reasons. The very first entry in MY.SP3 is an
effective if admittedly egoistic

--not my only autoreplace entry that simply complements
the au command that my startup.int executes. The Herb
considered au excessive. I don't. ... Ciao. --i, a
