And jerkiness can be caused by blank lines (i.e., successive CR/LFs
without a command or a semicolon) in SETTINGS.DFL. And somehow or other,
such lines can creep in. They evidently eat up RAM, but how they get
there (I don't recall changing SETTINGS.DFL on that system recently) I
haven't a clue. Anyway, a periodic SE for two successive CR/LFs doesn't
hurt, and it can clean up a XyWrite system that's acting flaky.
