Re: Tweakers Anonymous

Funny. Speaking of which, my wife has been
installing a wireless router in our home in
conjunction with a switch, involuntary, to
cable modem. Her initial fears, prompted by
problems running the linux version of Firefox
were assuaged when she found similar problems
with Windows.

Which prompted her exclamation, "Thank
goodness, Windows isn't working!"

I laughed out loud and have been wondering
what percentage of the online community
would understand such a comment.

Reminds me of the story I heard from a software engineer at the old AT&T,
who witnessed this in the early 80s. A bunch of AT&T employees take an
all-day seminar to get training in using the new computerized switching
system for routing phone calls. Throughout the day there's a lot of
discussion about how the database manager will operate, with diagrams, flow
charts, etc. Late in the afternoon, someone raises his (her?) hand to ask:
"What will the database manager's salary be?"
