How would ERUNT, which I have, serve as an operating system? Doesn't it

Perhaps I have the name wrong. There's some util that
lets you create an emergency boot floppy for NT systems
isn't there? I could have sworn it was mentioned in a
post sometime over the past few years, but maybe I
imagined it.
No, I can't boot from a flash drive--only CDs or the hard drive.
You don't have to BOOT from the flash drive. But when
you're creating the bootable CD, Acronis asks you for a
boot floppy from which to copy the hidden system files
(and presumably their mystical location in certain
sacred tracks where only io.sys and whatever the other
one is called can go). Whether you could somehow get
those files onto a flash drive and then convince
Acronis that the flash drive was a floppy, so that it
could copy the "hidden system files" to the CD, I don't
know. Look at Acronis's Web site and see if there's any
info there. I know I created such a bootable image
here, but I'm running 98SE and have a floppy drive.
