Another good email program, which has been mentioned here from time to time, is
Polarbar (formerly JStreet Mailer). It's free, and is being actively developed
by a number of collaborators around the world who know email well. It's a Java
program, so its cross-platform; I moved my installation from OS/2 to W2K
seamlessly. You'll need to tinker some to get the Java environment set up,
figure out which implementation of Java is best, etc.
The web site is www.polarbar.org
The philosophy is not unlike Xywrite: focus on one task, and do it well.
Messages are stored in ascii files, one per message.
