You're right about not being able to put a macro on an unshifted key. In
this instance, you write a backspace-delete macro and assign it to ctrl-[ or
another control key combination. WinWord also allows you to assign keystroke
sequences. For instance, you could reserve F2 for special editing keys, then
assign the backspace-delete macro to F2-[ (in sequence).
