CLIP and OOM and Winword

I've been updating the U2 and Utils  files as they appear in hope that some refinement will eliminate the glitch I've been getting with CLIP.EXE.
Not yet.

As before, I can CLIP perfectly from XY4 to Windows apps. But taking even a brief (10 characters)  Windows text to XY4, I can only paste the clipped material to the top of the file. Any place past the first 4 or 5 lines, and XY4 freezes.

NV/VA $M+6 is 7. It decreases to 6 if I run KILLMEM--and incidentally, could I automatically run the program Killmem points to from Startup.int or elsewhere?

Even at 6, CLIP won't insert  to anyplace but the top of the XY4 file.

To lower memory use I've commented out Load HLP  and attempted to move my ancient save/gets into U2. I used Carl's Move2U2.pm to create a file that I pasted near the top of XYWWWEB.U2.  (When I tried SVMACROS.PM, it gave me a "too many program calls" error, and SEELDSGT didn't generate a file, probably !
 because
 these were separate assignment and not the SAVEGET file.)

Anyway, I then commented out my little macros in Startup.int and found they continued to work on reloading. Lovely. Then I tried eliminating the commented-out lines in Startup.int. No more macros!  Do I need to redo the KBD file as well?

 While we're at it, when I ran REGCFG.PM, it couldn't find Winword.exe because the equivalent is now part of the Microsoft Works (oxymoron?) package in my computer. So in the two places it wants Winword (CDD and Viewers)  I added this line to REG:

Word=C:\PROGRA~1\MICRO~1\Wkswp.exe

Will that do the job? Because the next thing I want to get working is  SA /rtf .  It reads "Done" but I don't see an .rtf version afterward.
