John Paines, thank you! I didn't know that (or anything else, truth be told) about VDOS. Works nicely for me.Migration to VDOSXY is now complete! I'll look into config.txt too.Carl, I never inserted the XPL routines because I didn't know where to put them, so commanding VCLIP?2 or just VCLIP (ditto VPASTE) got "Command not recognized."Kari, point taken about Editpad. I've got that installed too, and will use it instead of my reflexive Notepad.Thanks to all! I may still fiddle a bit with XY4-3.kbd to see if I can get a working help key, but that's not a big priority at the moment.VDOSXY is a vast improvement over the XP Mode workaround, and I'm grateful for it.

Can't speak to vclip, but you *do* know that you can copy from the Windows clipboard into xywrite, and vice versa, using vdos commands?
To paste the Windows clipboard into xywrite, depress windows key+ctrl+V.
To copy text from xywrite into the clipboard, there are two methods: 1) hold down the windows and ctrl keys and use the mouse left click to highlight text (this won't work in full screen mode), or 2) put the line
LPT4 = CLIP
in the config.txt file and copy any xywrite file to LPT4 from the command line, for example:
copy test.txt LPT4
