I am concerned because a couple of you have now alluded to a
problem where keyboard input slows down periodically. As I said
to Harmon Seaver, one possible explanation for that is the
intervention of autosave, which interrupts what you are doing at
specified inervals to write out the file to an autosave.tmp
file. When that happens, although keystrokes continue to enter
the keyboard buffer, they do not display until after the autosave
is done. The only indication that an autosave is in progress is
a message on the status lineand the "done" when the autosave is
completed. These messages, however, like others on the status
line, are erased by the next keystroke.  Thus, if you are
concentrating on what you are typing, you might not know this is
happening.

If this is what you are experiencing, it is not a bug, and
shouldn't bother you if you know what is going on. You can turn
autosave on and off, and adjust the intervals. If this is not
what is happening, I would appreciate knowing how to duplicate
the problem so tech support can research it.
