Got it, and thanks again.
This does import directly into NB, as is. Xy-4 just shows a row of formatting deltas. No divider grid lines or other guidance apparently -- with either. I'll have to play around with this.
Nothing is going to be as simple or straightforward as was doing this in Open Office, it seems.
I found a bunch of other various templates that I had apparently either made or adopted back in the Xy-3 days, replete with PT table deltas etc. And I have essentially zero recall of any of it, nor of any customized templates I found in some of my Xy-4 directories. But I must have used this stuff at one time. Pretty bad, huh ? After some range of years, it gets to be like you're deciphering hieroglyphics, with very minimal background for doing so. This happens with other stuff too.

You can download them here:

Thanks
Bill. I'm going to have to say that either the existence of
these were completely unknown to me, or else if I ever knew of
them I had forgotten. I can search through wherever I may have
stored such items, but where might they still be available, just
in case ? This sounds like something that ought to be made
available on Brian's XyWrite.Com site. I would certainly give
them a try.

Can
you not make the adjustments needed within the old
XyW templates of 20 years ago? I haven't used
them recently, but they still worked well within
NotaBene a few years back. A number of them were
for Avery labels, as I recall.

Hi
Carl,
I
don't suppose this is something covered in
the U2 library ?
In
the past, I've mostly used Open Office for
this particular task, because it already has
and recognizes templates for at least a few
of the popular Avery sheets. That would be
contrasted with single #10 envelopes, for
which I've used NB, with my own
individual-use address templates -- when
printing directly to the envelope. But I've
just run into some problems.
The
post office changed a standard address
format on me, both in its 3-line and 4-line
incarnations. When I went to modify the
existing Avery labels in OO, I discovered
that there did not seem to be anything like
the AL (adjust line leading) that I used to
employ in Xy; there was only the choice
between single, 1.5, and double spacing.
All I could do was change the font and/or
the font size. It's a mess, comes out
looking bad. Lots of trial and error would
be required, to come up with a suitable
replacement.
I'm
amazed to find that NB apparently does not
come equipped with some Avery label
templates ? If so, that would seem to be a
major oversight. Searching their Help for
various related keywords did not bring up
anything useful. I tried to import the
Avery one from OO into NB, but the format is
not recognized. I'm not sure how Xy could
fare any better in that department, with or
without U2. Unless you had run up against
this issue some time ago and hardcoded
something for this that did not require
recognizing a strange format ?
