I never replied because I can't help you -- you _do_ require a password,
apparently. If I've nothing further to contribute, why reply? When I
installed W2K on that "passwordless" machine, initially, when asked for a
password, I hit . I.e. password={null} (at least, I think that's what I
did -- it was several years ago). I merely was suggesting to you that _if_
your system somehow "lost" your password, _maybe_ you didn't have one anymore.
A very big "maybe".
I only volunteered a few words in this thread because you specifically asked
_me_. DejaNews, my friend! We're not an OpSys newsgroup. This is the
absolute LAST place I'd ask that question -- speaking for myself...
