Mr. Crutchfield, The version of the 4.12g update that you received may have
contained some development files which are causing the problems with the
directory display and probably some other menu driven features as well. We
recently discovered this error and have found that restoring the original files
solves these problems. You will want to perform a custom installation of
XyWrite, using your original disks to reinstall these files: XWDLG.DLG,
XWMENU.MNU, XWHELP.HLP, XWUIF.UIF, and XWU3.U3. The second problem you noted
has been recently reported as a bug and we do have a workaround solution for
it. There is a corrected XWDLG.DLG file on this BBS which corrects the
coordinates for these frames on high resolution monitors. The fix, if you wish
to try this yourself, involves placing a tab and the number 12 on the line
which establishes the coordinates. For the Search frame this line would read:
1    1 4 12 85 11 Find (it is at this point that you place the tab 12) In
any case, the file can be downloaded from the Miscellaneous section of the BBS.
