on and off topic re purchase of new pc with dos for xywrite

I received a quote from dell for a Dell pc with 4 gigs of ram, a 2.8 intel chip, and a 160 gig hard drive, two dvd burners, and a 1.4 flop drive, dos software and no monitor, no windows, and no office for just under $1030 including tax and shipping.  (my wife gets me an educator's discount)  It comes with a four year warranty and AMEX adds another year if I use my AMEX card which I intend to do.  My experience with the AMEX warranty was excellant.  Is this a good price.

Patricia I was surprised that I did not have to pay microsoft for another copy of xp.

As I explained in my prior emails I intend to use a dual boot system with xp and either dos or win98se.  Is it possible to create  a dual boot system with xp where a dos kernel is already on the system or do I need to have windows 98se as the other operating system.  As I explained in my prior email my two concerns are having  dos to run xywrite without problems and xp for surfing the net and email.  right now I am running xp and win98se and it seems to work once I get into the win98se kernel without problems.  It is a little cumbersome getting to the dos kernel since it requires two reboots, but it doesn?t freeze at importune moments.

Is it possible to convert xywrite files to pdf within the dos kernel itself or the dos kernel of win98se.  As I understand it the salesman thought the dos would simply be command.com (and I assume the two hidden files).
