Some very bad Xy3 hangs under OS/2 2.0 are what impelled me to move up to Xy4
(this was around a year and a half ago, I think). I submitted a couple of APARs
(problem reports) to IBM which I think were eventually closed with "Recommend
user upgrade to Xywrite 4"). The hangs seemed to be associated with Xy's
keyboard driver although I haven't the faintest idea how. Xywrite 3 had been
rock-solid under OS/2 1.3.
Having said that, 1) Xy4 has worked indestructibly for me under OS/2 since OS/2
2.11 (version 2.0 was more or less an unofficial beta), and 2) moving to the
newer version of Xywrite was for me quite painless. Also, there were I believe
many Xywrite 3 users who didn't have any problems, so it may have been a
peculiarity with my Xywrite configuration.
