Right you are. And I'm looking forward to certain features of the forthcoming
ECS (E-Comm Station, a.k.a. OS/2 Warp 4.5), most particularly the ability to
make a bootable CD of one's *fully customized* OS + as much application s/w as
one can fit on the CD (and since this is not one of B.G.'s bloated space-hogs,
that probably means most of it), take it to most any machine that has a CD
reader, boot off that, and feel like you are at home. And that will be a trick
I doubt you could pull off with anything else. Of course, you will need to save
any work product somewhere, but even if the guest machine has no floppy or Zip
drive, there are still ways around that. And, from what I've heard, Project
Odin keeps making progress towards the ability to run ever more Win-32 s/w under
OS/2. For anyone who ran DOS or has a reasonable familiarity with W98, OS/2 is
probably going to be a quicker, easier adjustment than plunging right into
Linux.
