Well, that's what I'm saying too. It isn't germane. We're trying to solve
what is, granted, your problem, but to frame the solutions (and the problem
solving) in "the general case". To universalize it.
Only two locations are pertinent:
1) the Ghostscript ..\BIN directory, where PSTOTXT3.EXE is located. We know
you've accurately stated this in the REGistry. We know that the frame
accurately acquires this information. So we can put that behind us...
2) the d:\path\sourcefilename.pdf
I will have access to one of my Win98 machines next week, and I can try this
out then. I could try to simulate it now on Win95 (I don't want to install
Ghostscript on it it, because it is just a small test installation).
For now, I would double check your results with the > gambit.
You know you had good information in S/G after the first SFN. Did you check
after the second SFN? Because somewhere between the first SFN and the DOS
command -- a VERY short distance! in which almost nothing happens! -- the data
in S/G 15 disappears. That is hard to attribute to Win98. It is hard to
explain, period.
