All points well taken, Peter, and I appreciate the spambuster links you've
posted. I too have several e-mail addresses that I manage almost as you
describe (One Hotmail account suddenly mushroomed with spam when I recently
subscribed to the MSN Instant Messenger service. Microsoft now owns Hotmail,
and it appears they have passed my address along. The Evil Empire strikes
again ...). My thinking has been that I also give in to spam if I devote much
time in opposition, but now I am less inclined to think so. As you say, the
mechanisms for fighting it are improving.

It is a hassle to sort such mail, and "filters" are not foolproof. I will
look into your suggestions, Peter. Again, thank you.

I also see no compelling reason NOT to close this list.
Subscription/unsubscription is a simple matter. Seems to me it would be in
the best interests of TTG and Nota Bene Associates to designate a subscriber
on their staffs to monitor the list and offer feedback as needed (thank you,
Anne Putnam). Other ideas?
