Weird clipboard behavior

I recently started incorporating Web documents into XyWrite/Dos
docs using Windows 95 cut/past, instead of saving to a file and
merging into the XyWrite doc.

But some documents--especially longer ones--cause XyWrite
to go a little weird.

When I click on the past button, the cursor jumps to another
place in the file, where the clipboard material is then entered.
If I do several pastes into the same document, it ALWAYS
puts them at the exact same place in the doc, no matter where
I put the cursor.

Additionally, the paste operation changes the view mode
from draft to formatted w/page lines. And then, when the
pasting is complete, up pops the "go to x page" dialogue box.

Any clues about what's going here?
