You raise an interesting problem because i have done some stuff with the RTF format and have looked
at the spec's for the format from M$. According to the last spec i have, which may not be the
latest, each successive version of RTF is supposed to be backward compatible. (Or there is the
convention to make that so! And developer's, etc are encouraged to do so.) When looking at an
RTF file that our WOrd 95 v.7 created, i think that it was backward compatible with the previous
versions.

If you wanted to send me the file, i could try and load it on my end!
